Participate in the Chelmsford Complete Streets Prioritization Plan!
The Town of Chelmsford is working with the MassDOT Complete Streets Funding Program to prioritize its most pressing improvements for biking, transit users, and walking. One of the best resources for knowing where improvements are needed is the knowledge of our town residents! Are there locations where you would like to see improvements for your walking, biking, or bus riding experience? Let us know on the Chelmsford Complete Streets Wikimap by clicking on the link here. There are brief instructions located in the help pulldown menu.
Complete Streets are designed and operated to provide safety and accessibility for all users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders and motorists. The Town received state approval to create the Complete Streets Prioritization Plan with the help of the consulting firm of Howard Stein Hudson. Once approved by MassDOT, the Prioritization Plan will be used to access up to $400,000 of state funds per year for construction of approved projects. Types of eligible projects include, but are not limited to: bicycle lanes, new or improved sidewalks, curb ramps, improved pedestrian crossings, benches, bus shelters, and more. A wide variety of things that would improve the walking, biking and transit environments are eligible, so share your ideas with us.
