[ARCHIVED] License Your Dog Now Through February 28th!

Is Your Dog Licensed?

Paper applications will NOT be included with this year's annual Town census, but there are several ways you can license your dog!


Online: All renewals can be processed online.  Look up your dog's current information and renew online here. 

In-Person: We are available to license your dog in the Town Clerk's Office during regular business hours: M, W, TH: 8:30a-4p, T: 8:30a-7p, Fri: 8:30a-1p. Please bring a copy of your dog's current rabies vaccination with you.

By Mail: Licensing applications are still available on the Town's website. Return the completed application with a copy of the rabies certificate and a check made out to Town of Chelmsford OR email your application materials to dogs@chelmsfordma.gov.


Dog Licenses Fees 

  • December 1 through February 28, $15 or $20 for unaltered
  • March 1, $20 or $25 for unaltered
  • April 1, $25 or $30 for unaltered
  • May 1, $30 or $35 for unaltered
  • June 1, $35 or $40 for unaltered

Animal control citations will be issued for any dog remaining unlicensed after June 15th, adding an additional $50 fee to the previously incurred licensing fees.
