Nomination papers are available in the Town Clerk's Office beginning January 1st for all elected Town Offices. The Annual Town Election is held on the first Tuesday in April.
w Town Wide candidates need to obtain 50 certified signatures. We advise a candidate to obtain at least 75 signatures. All signatures are returned the Town Clerk's Office.
w Town Meeting Reps need to obtain 25 signatures from their precinct. We advise a candidate to obtain at least 50 signatures. All signatures are returned the Town Clerk's Office.
There are 9 precincts in Town. Each precinct has 18 Town Meeting Reps for a total of 162 Representatives. Their terms are for three years. At every Town Election there are at least 6 Town Rep positions per precinct that are up for election.
There are two yearly scheduled Annual Town Meeting dates. The Spring Meeting starts the last Monday in April and runs Monday and Thursday until it is completed. The Fall Town Meetings starts the 3rd Monday in October and runs Monday and Thursday until it is completed. A Special Town Meeting may be called for at any time.
