Health Department Screening

The Health Department conducts various health screenings, health fairs, vaccine immunization programs, and inspects sanitary regulations at establishments selling food and drink including mobile food vendors.

Inspections are also done at camps, apartment housing / lodging, swimming pools, and tanning establishments. The Health Department also tests water at town beaches, approves design plans before building permits are issued and is responsible for environmental concerns such as mosquito control and sharps collection.

The Chelmsford Board of Health works closely with the Greater Lowell Health Alliance (GLHA) to improve the overall health of our surrounding communities on a number of different task forces.  The GLHA organization is seeking community feedback via a survey to determine priority areas regarding the health and wellbeing of our communities.  The data from this survey will be used to develop programs and projects for identified health priorities as well as allow for access to grant funding to address these issues.  This survey is confidential and anonymous, is for those 18 years of age and older, and is for residents of the following communities: Billerica, Dracut, Dunstable, Chelmsford, Tyngsboro, Tewksbury, Lowell, and Westford.  This is a great opportunity to let your voice be heard and actively engage in the health needs of your community!  You can also enter for a chance to win Visa gift cards for completing the survey.  On behalf of our partners we appreciate your time in completing this survey and please feel free to reach out to Kerrie D’Entremont, executive director of GLHA, at for any questions you may have.
