RESIDENTIAL BUYERS AND SELLERS ARE ADVISED THAT AN APPLICATION TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR INSPECTION/CERTIFICATE IS STILL REQUIRED. Responsibilities



The Chelmsford Fire Department furnishes the citizens of Chelmsford with a comprehensive and responsible delivery system of fire protection, fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services in order to provide life safety and the protection of property.

The Fire Department is responsible for:
  • Fire prevention / education
  • Fire suppression
  • Hazardous material emergency response
  • Emergency medical services
In addition, together with other Town departments, the Chelmsford Fire Department is also responsible for emergency preparedness and disaster mitigation. The Fire Department along with the Chelmsford Police Department is responsible for the E-9-1-1 Emergency Dispatch Center.
